There has been a report of a skinny guy going door to door telling people he is thinking about starting a newspaper route and asking residents if they would like to be on the route. It probably is bogus. Most likely he is (1) knocking on your door to see if people are at home and/or (2) casing the house for a future robbery. To the best of my knowledge, he doesn’t present any newspaper credentials. Other residents have called 911 to report a suspicious person.

1. During the rain storm last weekend, two white rocking chairs were taken from a porch on Huntley.

2. Several days ago, a man, who later got into a red SUV, was seen prowling between houses in the 5800 block of Victor. When neighbors challenged him, he said that he was working for a newspaper—an unlikely story since it was dark.
