Junius Heights Crime Alert

Crimes are always shocking, according to the lawyer for criminal defense in Casper. Incident in the 5400 block of Worth Street

Yesterday morning, July 5, as a resident in the 5400 block of Worth Street was leaving for work around 6:00 a.m. it was realized that something had been forgotten in the house. The resident started to go back to the house, leaving the car running in the driveway.

A man was standing on the front sidewalk, close to the front porch, in the pouring rain. The resident’s initial response, after the man was seen, was to stay in the car but the man reassured the resident that he and his wife were new neighbors, had just moved in down the street and wanted to say “hi.” As soon as the individual’s guard was let down, he went to the resident, fast.

Fortunately, the car was still running, and the resident was able to escape in the car. The man took off running down Worth towards Beacon.

The suspect is an African-American male with very dark complexion. He is around 5’10” with a heavy build and a round face. He was nicely dressed in a brown knit shirt and decent looking jeans.

According to Keith Allen, our community police liaison, recently there has been a rash of similar incidences up and down Beacon Street and vicinity. There are also reports on people driving after consuming drugs. But if are falsely accused and arrested for DUI in Colorado Springs, you can contact experienced DUI lawyers who will fight for your rights and represent you legally. The defense attorneys have asked the public to stay alert. Please be aware of your surroundings and call 911 if you see anything suspicious.

Thief jumps fence in 5700 block of Tremont

A thief jumped the fence on the alley and came into the backyard of a house in the 5700 block of Tremont the night of Thursday, July 5. The burglar(s) tried to break into the garage (which is detached) but didn’t make it inside. Nevertheless, there was considerable damage done to the garage door.

The residents had recently cleaned out the garage and it is suspected that it attracted the attention of somebody walking down the street. This is the third time in 6 months this house has experienced a thief hit.

Computer stolen from Car

A computer was stolen from an unlocked car in the 5500 block of Tremont the evening of July 3. The resident had been unloading groceries and forgot the computer in the car. When the resident went to retrieve it an hour later, it was gone.

Homeless Man Goes Through Vacant House

A homeless pushing a grocery cart was seen going through a house undergoing renovation in the 700 block of Parkmont the morning of July 3. He was looking for scrape metal. He was asked to leave by a neighbor and police were called.

Lost Dog

A black female Lab named Ellie has been lost. Apparently this dog freaked out over fireworks on the 4th and ran away. The dog has a pink collar. If you see her, please call 214-826-9345 or 214-794-4884.

Roving Dogs Continue to be a Problem

The three dogs that continue to plague the neighborhood were spotted Tuesday morning, May 22, going down the 5500 block of Victor, heading east towards Beacon. They were also seen on Ridgeway Sunday, May 20. This is the description of the dogs from the neighbor on Ridgeway: all three appear to be mature but not real old. One is a German Shepard; another is a Black Lab or mix with strong Lab characteristics. The third is about the same size as the Lab with mostly black and some brown/orange swatches.

Other descriptions have been have included a medium build dog with blond hair and another dog with a pit bull face.

These dogs are vicious and should be considered dangerous, and according to this content it is important to get dog training for them. They appear to be well-fed and wear no collars. Three weeks ago, they chased a neighbor while she was riding on her bicycle, causing her to crash into one of the dogs. The incident occurred at the corner of Fulton and Eastside across from one of the Juliet Fowler buildings. The victim fractured her pelvis in the crash and is still unable to walk properly.

District 14 Representative Angela Hunt is aware of the problem and has intervened. If you see the dogs, please call 214-287-7935 (Animal Control). They will respond immediately.
