A house in the 5500 block of Junius was burglarized the night of June 22. The vandals torn a door frame off, broke a window, and tried to steal a window air conditioning unit. The thieves did steal a sofa and two TVs. The house was ransacked and the police suspect that the burglars were looking for drugs as well as merchandise. There was nobody at home at the time.
Also on the night of June 22, somebody dumped a large pile of brush in the street in the 600 block of Augusta. This happens periodically in the same location. The resident who reported the mess claims they must open the tailgate of the pickup, give it some gas, and watch the mess fall unto the street. If somebody sees this happening and can give us a description of the vehicle, we’d be grateful. Junius Heights is not a dump for other peoples’ trash.
There have been reports of a young Hispanic male going door to door asking for money because his car ran out of gas. When he is refused money, he gets in his car and drives away.
