and Junius Heights since the 1920s and is supported by the East Dallas
Exchange Club and the Swiss Ave. Homeowners Association.
• It was renovated in 2006

10th Annual Neighborhood Leadership Boot Camp

Boot Camp is back, with a Texas-size agenda! Join us for a morning dedicated to

empowering our communities and developing leaders all across Big D!

Mayor Tom Leppert will kick off Boot Camp 2007 with his first address to citywide

neighborhood leaders. Come hear the Mayor’s vision for our communities!

Jim Diers, nationally renowned advocate and innovator of community empowerment

programs will share his strategies for success and lead workshops to build a new program for

Dallas. Jim is the author of “Neighbor Power” and creates award-winning programs for

communities across the nation and around the globe. Read more on the back of this flyer.

Texas Neighborhoods Together Leadership Academy brings the foremost

neighborhood development leaders in Texas to lead our breakout sessions.

Boot Camp 2007 will teach, train and motivate Board members, committee chairs and

volunteers! Veteran activists will learn fresh, invigorating strategies. Boot Camp is packed

with powerful, ready-to-use ideas to help make your neighborhood group effective.

Workshops are hands-on and interactive, and focus on Leadership Skills,

Organization Nuts & Bolts, and Community Empowerment. Workshops are simultaneous,

so bring several attendees from your neighborhood. (see attached agenda)

Park and enter at City Hall underground parking – access in the median of Young Street headed eastbound.

Junius Heights Crime Watch to Sponsor Meet and Greet

Suzanne and Michael, who sponsor the Junius Heights Crime Watch, invite you to a JH Crime Watch Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 23 at 7 pm at the Time Ten Cellars, 6324 Prospect Avenue. Dennis Craig, our primary off-duty patrol officer, as well as Chief Keith will be there to answer questions and concerns while you get a chance to get better acquainted with neighbors.
